Over the last 20 years I've been working as a freelance translator from English (ATA and Institute of Linguists accredited) and German into Italian (also Swiss-Italian). Since I started working as a freelance translator, I have been working towards my professional development and growth, avoiding stagnation and keeping in touch with the latest trends in life sciences (medical, pharmaceutical, chemical translations) and technology (automotive, machine tools, telecommunications). I have attended conferences, assembled translators for professional growth meetings, offered workshops, and put on education meetings for the use of machine assisted tools such as Trados. In addition to this, I have tried to contribute to the industry as a whole by creating awareness to the need for translation services and to be aware of the fact that translators are professionals who invest in themselves and their careers similar to the way other professionals do.
