An Updated Guide To Translation Pricing By Text United

website.translation.pricing

With the plethora of pricing options, per-word-costs, and other factors, it seems that it’s really difficult to answer How much does a translation cost? question in a straightforward manner.

Another question appearing very early in the conversations with people interested in our system is What is included in the subscription? Sometimes, it comes up even after the perfect product fit has been determined!

With a vast amount of features and workflows, defining the final cost of the translation can be quite tricky. While you can check out our pricing herewe decided to publish an updated guide to our translation pricing plans and help you choose the best plan for your business.

Translation Costs vs Technology Costs

Before we dive in, we have to explain the difference between technology costs and translation costsTechnology costs are something completely separate to the translation itself and they are based strictly on the translation solution that you choose.

When it comes to translation costs themselves, they are measured by cost-per-word. This two pieces of information must be followed up by two important claims:

#1. Human services are not included in the technology costs

The subscription costs we discuss in this blog are what you pay for using our Translation Management System as proprietary software, with its many features. Human services, such as outsourced translation and desktop publishing, are not included in the plans.

#2. Technology costs don’t include unlimited machine translation

Machine translation included in our pricing must be viewed as a completely separate type of service. If you want to only machine-translate files without ever having a human translator check the translation, you would use our system simply as a means to process a number of large and complex files.

This means that you can use machine translation with no subscription, using the free plan and simply pay for the number of words that are machine-translated, defining whether it’s 10.000 or 10.000.000 words. In short, our plans include a specific amount of words that can be machine-translated – in each plan you can top it up.

 Free Plan

At Text United, you can use our services with a free account that’s designed for companies who are in the process of deciding on the right paid plan for them.

What is included in the free plan?

  • 1.000 words/month that you can translate yourself or with your colleagues
  • 2.000 words/month that can be machine-translated with an option to top it up
  • an unlimited number of words that you can outsource to Text United

The most important part is the difference in the number of words. Once you translate the 1.000 words yourself or with your colleagues, you can also take a file with 2.000 words and machine-translate it, without human involvement. You also have an option to top up your allowance of machine-translated words.

Note that users are switched to the Entry Plan following the 14-day free trial.

Paid Plans

In our translation pricing, there are certain features that are included in every plan. These features are what we call the backbone of our Translation Management System and they include:
