Oh, the need
You probably have a company, and as every company in the world now, a website. Luckily it grows and gets international and you want to get everyone interested in your product, because, why not? Probably it’s awesome. But what a time to be alive – foreign markets crave proper website translation! Not only because you ship your product worldwide, or your service went global but also because you want to keep growing and crossing the boundaries, even if you sell cat sweaters.
And as long as there are foreign markets you want to grow on, you are in need of this kind of service. And what I mean by service is properly translated and localized content that boosts your conversion rate along with globally improved SEO. When you finally decide to do it (probably when your analytics tool shows you that you should), there are questions of time efficiency, quality for quantity and what kind of methods there are available. After all, it’s a whole website with a code, not a book.
Options, processes, consequences
Companies usually consider two options- hiring a freelancer specialized in translating websites while prioritizing the quality of a translation, or choosing language services agency that supposedly provides a high-quality translation with consideration of time efficiency (but not having much control or a choice when it comes to the service itself). In both cases, the translation process requires extracting the content from the code, classifying and sorting it in some internal fancy piece of software. It usually looks like an endless maze of processes, more or less like this:
But hey, we made it!
According to us, a perfect solution to a website translation should be:
-at least partially automatic to increase time efficiency
-excluding complete machine translation,
-still using all the possible benefits of a human translation
–avoiding the messy labyrinth of data channels, extracting, sorting and putting it back together.
Keep it simple, silly! The content is a cat with sweater strings of code
The mechanism of website translations is ridiculously easy to use. The best thing about it- the whole process is half automated and fully controllable along with plain interface and clear options.
Imagine your website content as a black kitty and strings of code as knitted sweaters your kitty wears. From your perspective, it’s like you put your black kitty wearing 10 kitty sweaters to a magic candy floss pink cloud and after a while you would receive your kitty back wearing the exact same 10 kitty sweaters with another kitty, wearing identical 10 kitty sweaters, but ginger. See, the code stays the same, the content gets duplicated and translated. Meow.
After submitting the website for translation you will see the layer of the preview in the tool with all the content needing translation over your website. From this view, you can translate all text within the edition mode all by yourself if you want, just by clicking on the parts of text (and with this option you pay only for the access to the tool with the translation memory and the possibility of creating such layer to install it on your website).
When the amount of content is too much for you or you want to translate the website into a language you don’t know, you choose the language, the translator from our database and then you order the translation itself with the ‘order’ button.
When you order it, nobody has to extract specific elements or the content from the code. You just submit the website and our tech will automatically extract the content from the code and all elements that need actual translation. Then, the magic with words happens, along with contextualization. When the layer of the translated version is ready you will be notified that all the translated content is ready within a preview layer.
Additionally, if there is a graphics file that needs translation as well, you can let us know and appropriate translation by a specialist will be delivered to the picture itself, too (!). To have the final layer of the translated version delivered on your website, you have to put one line of code in your website code and that’s pretty much it! A little extension bar with the languages of choice appears on your homepage.
Clicking on the language of choice will automatically put the Text United translated layer over your website from the cloud. In fact, the whole outcome product closes in the little bar with languages switch. Cool, no?
Well, it gets even better. Text United system is constructed in a way that prevents from paying twice for the same stuff. The whole layer along with text already translated is placed in the translation memory cloud. It means that while you add new content to the website, our system sees the words that you have already translated – if you order further translation, the translators then only translate the words that haven’t been translated yet and contextualize the whole content. This means that the more you translate, the less you pay because you pay for fewer and fewer words.
It’s simple, it’s intuitive, it’s… pretty much translation magic, just without the kittens. So now you know! I’m just going to leave it here.
