How To Clone a Translation Project?

This option enables cloning an already used project and editing it. Since it was not really possible to add a new target language to an ongoing website translation project, we introduced the cloning feature! The process itself is safe, simple and easy. As the name suggests, the cloning tool will copy all of the settings from the original project in order to create a cloned one in a different target language.

This feature is basically adding new languages to your website translation project and keeping them connected! When you clone your original website translation project into a new language, the newly added language will be available in the language switch menu on your website. That means more time and money saved on opening your business to yet another market.  It’s perfect for the users who store their projects and want to add new languages to their website.

How Does It Work?


To clone a project, enter the project details page by clicking on the project name.

#1. Click on the CLONE button
#2. Select the new target language from the dialog and click CLONE
#3. You will be redirected to the project details page of the cloned project

Project manager gets to choose what pages will they add to the new project and who will translate it. All of the project settings will be inherited in the newly created project. Of course, depending on its size, it may take a few moments until everything is ready. Voila!

After you’ve cloned the project into multiple languages and it’s and ready for publishing, you may choose a default language for the website. The best part is that no matter what the original source language is; Text United code snippet will automatically switch the website to the default language – you can access that feature from the projects settings page!
